Nomination

Membership Nomination Process

Proposals for new members can be made by any current CIA member, with the process culminating in a formal vote at a General Meeting held every two years. This rigorous selection process ensures that CIA members are at the forefront of shaping the future of allergy and immunology, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among the brightest minds in the field. Nominees are expected to have a record of significant and sustained achievements in basic and/or clinical research in the fields of allergy, clinical immunology, and related branches of medicine.

Nomination Criteria

The nominee must:

  • Be reasonably senior.
  • Be identified as having made significant and sustained contributions to their field of research.
  • Demonstrate evidence of independence.
  • Make a scientific presentation (oral or poster) at one CIA Symposium.
  • Be present at the Symposium to accept the nomination.

Nomination Procedure

To nominate a candidate, submit the following to the CIA Secretariat at info@ciaweb.org:

  1. Letter of Recommendation: This letter should explain why the candidate should be considered for membership, specifically addressing the nomination criteria listed above.
  2. Curriculum Vitae: The candidate's current CV should include a complete list of scientific publications. It is helpful to list peer-reviewed and other publications separately.
