What are your research interests?

My research interests lie in the pathogenesis of asthma, with a particular focus on epithelial cells and immune cells, especially ILC2.

I am proud of elucidating the mechanisms involved in the activation and suppression of ILC2. Specifically, we discovered that TSLP induces corticosteroid resistance in ILC2 via STAT5.

Koichiro Asano

What is your favorite memory from a past Symposia?

I have only participated once, but both the scientific program and the social events were excellent!

What are you hobbies or what do you spend most of your time doing?

My hobby is playing classical guitar. Unfortunately, I've been so busy with work that I haven't had much time to play recently. Lately, I've been enjoying listening to classical music, not just guitar.

Taking a slow bath. I also enjoy traveling and visiting hot springs.

Is there anything else you'd like to share with your fellow members?

I look forward to seeing you at the next CIA symposium.
